Bob Myers

Robert Myers AKA Matt Black was born in Ft. Myers, Florida in 1958. His family had nothing to do with the name of the city. One of Robert’s earliest memories is of his mom feeding the alligator’s table scraps after dinner every night. He started playing drums at the age of 7, at the age of 9 his family moved North to Clearwater Florida and by the age of 12 Robert became a local celebrity after two TV appearances on, "Russ Byrds' Morning Show," in Clearwater playing Santana's Evil Ways, and Caravan. He then began touring local elementary schools with the, "Eddie Edwards' Band."
At the age of 19 joined his first local band, “Full Stroke,” playing a lot of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Tom Petty, Van Halen, etc.
Their biggest gig was when they played inside Tampa Stadium for Tampa Bay Rowdies vs. The San Diego Sockers outdoor socker game. Where the San Diego Chicken danced to the song Saturday Night Special while pretending to have a gun in hand. In 1985 Robert moved to San Diego California and not long after joined a fun band called The And with Chuck Schiele. Playing all the local hot spots, and coming up with several great original tunes. After a while, Robert decided to concentrate on starting his business, "Custom Acrylics," working with Plexiglas, which of course required him to take Some time off from his musical endeavors.
As time allowed Robert started up with a new band in Poway CA. called, "Money Shot," with smokin’ hot lead guitarist, Damon Rain. After Money Shot had run its course, Robert chose to start a five piece band called, “Shaky Ground,” playing the Blues, Funk, and Latin Rock, because of lead guitarist Fernando Bianchini who had originated from Guatemala.
In 2023 Robert met up with Terry Overlin, the founder of, "Whisky Bleu" and as they say, The Rest is History..
